EUGENE, Ore. -- It's been almost a week, and there is still no one in custody for the vandalism at a University of Oregon office.
Campus police say this is still an ongoing investigation. They were not able to talk on camera but they said they sent an e-mail to the university, assuring the community they're still working on it. The e-mail from the campus chief says they are working aggressively towards finding who did this. Doug Tripp calls Monday's incident especially troubling and says he knows it's created a sense of fear and anxiety around campus.
Investigators say a janitor found a Swastika spray painted on the carpet of the LGBTQA office. Nothing was taken, leaving members to believe it was simply a hate crime.
The campus and Eugene Police Department investigators discussed Thursday who will handle the case going forward. They agreed it will stay with the university police. If you have any tips, you're asked to call them.
